Carl owner of TKO Music has been actively involved in the music industry for over 25 years he has opened for international recording artist such as Grammy award winner Eric Johnson, Eric commented that he has never heard anyone play guitar like Carl can. Carl has toured with many acts covering everything from rock to classical with performances in Canada and the U.S. Carl also found time to teach music to hundreds of students both privately and in classroom settings. Carl did his studies in Vancouver Canada at VCC Where he also studied under international composers and classical guitarist Leo Brouwer and John Duarte. Carl has played on many recordings working in some of the best recording studios in British Columbia. Carl has taught and guided many students though university entrance exams. Other students have gone on to successful careers in the music industry.
I decided to start this business because I have spent most of my life immersed in creating and teaching music. It is excited to have the opportunity to continue the pursuit of music as a teacher, performer, composer, arranger, producer, and independent recording artist.
I have performed and composed music in many different styles I have my finger on the pulse of both popular and conventional music. My skills enabling me to be original and current in any music project that falls in the field of my disciplines. I play at the highest level of virtuosity on my main instrument the guitar. I have been rated as one the best guitar players in our county by industry leaders.
I have written songs for young artist such a group called Nexus in the 90s, Warner Bothers took interest in this group on the strength of my songs one in particular a hip hop song called “Dance with your Id” Warner brothers called this song a hit single.
I taught hundreds of clients some for as long as ten years. Many passed university exams under my guidance and some have gone on to successful careers in the music industry.
I have lectured and performed in public schools throughout British Columbia on a youth employment program provided by Vancouver community college when I was in attendance there as a double major in performance and composition.
